Our History
Carolina Drill Supply was formed in 2020, after the husband and wife team, Alex and Jennifer Patterson, purchased the company formerly known as L.C. Vought Company. Started in 1960 in California, later moved to Colorado, the L.C. Vought Company sold and shipped parts and components for rock drills, air tracks, air motors, tuggers, muckers, compressors and pneumatic tools all over the United States to some of the world’s largest mining operations.
Carolina Drill Supply is honored to continue on this legacy of providing the parts and pieces that our mining and drilling, and blasting clients need to keep moving. We operate as a husband and wife team working to sustain our family while supporting missions around the world. Our goal is to provide quality parts and service to clients AND teach our children about hard work, entrepreneurship, good citizenship, and patriotism.
Alex Patterson, President, grew-up in the drilling industry, joined the US Army right out of high school, and served three official tours to Iraq during the Iraqi war as an Infantry Airborn Sniper. He completed his terms of service and then began working for his father, John Patterson, at WORD Rock Drills. Alex worked as lead mechanic and drill installer/repair mechanic for WORD for 12 years and developed an expertise in Hydraulics.
After 12 years, Alex and his wife, Jennifer, were offered the chance to become their own bosses and buy L.C. Vought from Don Martin. They jumped on the opportunity with both feet! Now, we are expanding the company and bringing in new products, brands, and companies, etc. such as Ripamonti and WOLF for our clients. We are selling drill attachments, both pneumatic and hydraulic, and we are repairing machines/attachments.
